My high school class recently was given the opportunity to listen to a speaker from Egypt. He spoke about the history of Egypt and its relationship with the United States. Throughout the presentation he referred to the corruption of the United States and its government. He also explained how well the United States educates its citizens. How should the U.S deal with keeping the harmful immigrants out and letting the harmless ones in?
Immigration can put a negative toll on United States' patriotism. For instance, the attack of September 11 killed part of the country both physically and mentally. It made citizens of the United States question whether they're safe in public transportation such as subways and buses. It is near impossible for a public official to identify a terrorist unless they find them committing a crime. This is a very big problem because there can be thousands of terrorists walking the streets of the United States planning there next attack. When immigrants just barge into the U.S for negative reasons both legally and illegally to spread their corrupt ideas on how the U.S is a bad place, it also kills the patriotism in the country. Their goals are to find any way to bring down the U.S and its government; anyway they can.
Due to the negative effects of immigration, the U.S had to put together immigration laws abiding by these three rules: no entering without authorization or inspection, staying beyond the authorized period after legal entry, or violating the terms of legal entry. One actual law consists of The Immigration and Naturalization Act which sets forth the legal requirements for citizenship within the United States. Although the illegal immigrants are constantly trying to come into the U.S, it has created jobs for the economy but the country has to pay the extra National Guard officials enough to keep the illegal immigrants out. These laws and public officials’ goals are to block out most of the immigrants that are trying to harm our country in any way, letting only the healthy and ethical ones into the country.
This leads to the reason that the U.S has to always allow immigration. Although some immigrants are harmful to society, many immigrants are helpful. Some try to come over to better their education, or help the U.S advance its technology. It gives the country a more diverse society, helping with creating new ideas from different perspectives.
The best way to solve this corruption of harmful immigration is to set even more strict laws on letting immigrants in. For example, an immigrant must list multiple reasons why they should be allowed to enter the country, along with following current laws. The immigrants should be told up front that there new homes are going to be randomly checked for anything causing harm to the U.S because of the problems that occurred in the past. The process may take longer than today, but it is better than having immigrants plotting attacks in our own backyards.

Corruption... A Global Thing
A speaker from the country Yemen, came to talk to our class about the Yemen government. He spoke about how the Yemen government has been filled with corruption for its entire existence, and how the government has a hard time regulating its country. "People walk the streets armed with guns everyday," said the Speaker. He feels as if there is less crime because the citizens know that everyone is armed, and they don't want to cause complications with one another. Although, the main corruption is the bribing that takes place. If a man were to get pulled over by a policeman, all he would have to do is offer money to the policeman and he would be on his way. This bribing tactic is often used for other situations as well. Since Yemen has a poor source of power, some apartment buildings are regularly scheduled for a "power turn-off." This only takes place for a short, scheduled period of time because the country simply doesn't have enough electricity to go around. To get to the point, these electricians who shut off the power tend to offer bribes for the tenants to keep their power on. The corruption thought to be in the government, is also in the workplace and society itself. An investigation needs to take place in order to keep Yemen from deteriorating from the inside out.
Yemen is not the only country with corruption. The United States paid it tolls on corruption as well. The "Hired Truck Program" was a scandal in Chicago that involved eight city trucks hiring eight private trucks to do the city's work. It was "called out" in 2005 when a local newspaper reported an investigation done that participating companies were being paid to be doing little or no work at all. These eight city trucks were caught sitting at an abandoned gas-station for their entire eight hour shift. They were being paid to do nothing at all. Truck owners even paid bribes, just to get into this unlawful program. Eventually, this scandal officially came to an end in September 2006. The eight city truck drivers were laid off permanently.
In conclusion, Yemen is going to continue with its bribing and corruption because the people, the workers, and the policemen are all benefiting from its incentives. The only way this corruption can come to an end is if an outside source who cares about the country in the long term reports an investigation. This is exactly what happend in the United States "Hired Truck Program," which eventually was resolved, and everything became normal.

Where are the leaders?
A speaker visited our class and documented the atrocities inflicted on the religious groups in China. She Specifically spoke about the group “Falun Gong,” in which the Practitioners were persecuted for no reason. These practitioners would gather in parks and participate in body cleansing excercises, not harming anything or anyone. After a while, government officials began arresting anyone seen practicing Falun Gong. The idea of persecuting these individuals needs to stop. The people of Falun Gong need to organize religious suffrage and get more and more people to listen to them. Getting hundreds of thousands of people together in meetings can put a toll on government officials and hopefully make them think twice.
The United States also had human rights violations throughout the years. Untill the 1920s, Woman were denied the right to vote. No matter who it was, all woman were deprived of their legal rights. These women began to stand up for themselves and started the Woman’s Suffrage Movement. The most powerful organizer of Woman’s Suffrage was Susan B. Anthony, and she fought for their right to vote. They held meetings and planned strategies for gaining suffrage. Just from these simple tactics of getting everyone together they began to turn the government’s heads. In 1912, Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive Party became the first national political party to have a plank supporting women suffrage. Woman across the nation were being noticed. In the next few years the 19th amendment was passed, and it denied the government to hold anyone from voting because of their gender.
Human right’s violations are all over the world. If the people of Falun Gong came together and set up speeches to show that their organization is harmless, they would get some more respect, just like Susan B. Anthony did. A group such as Falun Gong without some type of leader is nothing. Where is Falun Gong’s “stand-out” practitioner?

China's Human Rights Violations
China's birth control policy, which is also known as the one-child policy, was created by the Chinese Government in 1979. The policy states that anyone who has more than one child is obligated for jail time or imprisonment. Although this can control the population of China, it causes forced abortions, abandonment, sex-selective abortions and other human rights violations all throughout the country. It is said that this holds a significant contribution to the gender imbalance in mainland China. The Chinese government estimates that 250 million births were prevented from this policy. There has been some slight changes to this policy over the years which allow ethnic minorities and the Chinese living in rural areas to have more than one child. If there has to be changes to this policy, the changes should be more reasonable. The U.S should step in and tell the Chinese government how they deal with over population such as taxing the higher income families to provide food stamps, and housing projects for the lower income families that have children.This one-child policy ignites many problems within the country that tend to ignite more complicated problems.

A change for this disastrous complication needs to be made. An outside nation, such as the U.S, should step in an show the Chinese government evidence that other countries to know what's happening in their country. The U.S can even threaten China that they will not buy their manufactured products because of how unethically they deal with things. This can put economic pressure on their government and hopefully they will think the persecutions through.
